It gives us great pleasure to finally announce that student and client Amira Skerritt-Cunningham will be making her debut appearance in the West End as she joins the cast of *Tina the Musical*! There isn’t a child more deserving than Amira because she grabs a challenge by the horns and works every hour she is given until she achieves what is needed.

We had the pleasure of accompanying her on her first West End audition. She waited anxiously in a room full of experienced young performers, many who had West End credits on their CV already, but she didn’t let that deter her. Instead, she smiled at every child in the room and started to make friends.

The first round was the vocal round. She looked at me when she was called, I gave her that knowing look, and she absolutely smashed it! She made it to the second round!

Excited to be called back in an hour’s time (the next round was the dance call), we ran up to the girls’ toilets to practice a few ‘pick up steps’ (whoever thinks being an actress is glamorous is wrong!). We then waited patiently for the next round!

Again, Amira was called upstairs with the remaining auditionees alongside one of the girls she made friends with.

This round was supposed to last one hour, however, it was a two and a half hour call because Amira made it to the end!

Receiving that phone call with an offer for Amira was an emotional conversation, one we will always remember. We are so proud of her, we could actually burst! To top off the incredible news, we saw that her new friend has also been successful!

Everyone at Attic Theatre School will miss Amira dearly, but we are so excited to watch her follow her dreams and do what she was born to do. We are so proud of you, Amira!!
